Hey Guys! Danilo from Amazons here. I know I promised to make a Top 10 list with the worst trades in FBF history. But looking the vaste league history I decided to make it different. I'm gonna do a list with the funniest trades, signs and releases season by season. Today I start with the league's first season, 2001-02.
2001-2002 Season
Free Agents
The most fun signs and releases of FBF history
In Feb 7 the Sacramento Storm signed two players for its team. One is the great Popeye Jones, the other was a Nets' reserve, a rookie named Richard Jefferson. But the worst part is that the Bulls was the first to give a chance for young RJ, but 'to the hell with this Van Horn reserve' and he dumped him.
In Jan 31 the Oregon Ducks released the phenomenal Oscar Torres. I wonder if he regrets...
In Jan 24 the California Spoiler Makers made a good deal, I think. He went down in that list we got in the site looking for some guy who wasn't in any team so he could upgrade his SG spot. Hum, this Michael Redd guy seems to be good.
In the same day the Wall St Bulls thought the same thing but instead of getting Redd he picked Chauncey "not yet big shot" Billups. After all, he might one day become a top pg in the league and win a finals MVP, right?
Oct 19, important day when the LA RuffRyders released Khalid El Amin. The league was never the same after that...
In Nov 8 the Oregon Ducks released the Agent Zero. Yes! Gilbert Arenas was fired in our league, I'm sure Gil plays harder when he sees you, Phillip. He likes a revenge.
Yet in the "How in the world I would know this back then", in Dec 13 the Carolina Thrashers released Zach Randolph. And it was not 'cause he sucks in D and doesn't like to run, jump and practice that much...
Trades
The most bizarre, awful or insignifcant trades in FBF history.
Queen City BeeBallers sends Kwame Brown and Baron Davis
for LA JAM's Kenyon Martin and Travis Best.
No, nothing wrong in this trade, just fun. Remember when Kwame was a good prospect, Kenyon was jumping and Travis Best existed? Good old times...
Fair Oaks Sushi Farmers (by far the best team name in FBF history) sends Elden Campbell
for
Carmichael Slashers' 1st round pick and Kurt Thomas
You dont need to predict the future to know that Elden wouldn't make anybody better. So why waste a 1st rounder?
Fair Oaks Sushi Farmers sends Karl Malone
for
Slasher's Elden Campbell and Allan Houston
Nothing wrong with this one too. Just to remind us that ths league is gettin old...
The "I can't predict the future" trades
LA RuffyRyders sends Peja
for
Spoiler Makers' 1st rounder, Eddy Curry, Joe Johnson and John Stockton.
Peja was rocking in Sac Town and no one would now that JJ was going to be a top SG in the league or that Eddy Curry, even fat, was going to put numbers a few years later.
Spolier Makers sends a 2nd rounder and Jeff McInnis
for
Jacksonville Knicks' Tony Parker.
Oh, that hurts. Remember this just a week after Tony won the finals MVP is mean. Hope he got someone good with the 2nd rounder...
Not much bad trades in our first season. GMs went just fine, but wait, 'cause next season I'm gonna be more cruel.
See ya, guys!

Nice Danilo! Good work.
A great read Danilo, thanks for posting !!
Hey Guys,
Nice site and nice post - looking forward to reading the rest!
Thanks for doing this Danilo!
I am sure that some of my "work" (especially the franchise rattling billups-marbury trade) will be on the upcoming stories for "bad trades" ... unfortunately with me on the wrong end of the deal. I will cringe when I read that, of course, as i do every time I think of it :-)
Thanks again and GREAT job!
Matt
